Just a reminder moving forward about the handicap format:
In SINGLES matches, each player receives 80% of their handicap and the match is played off the lower of the two.
For example: If PLAYER 'A' is a 6 and PLAYER 'B' an 8, 2 strokes are given.
In the TWO MAN matches, each player receives 80% of their handicap and ALL players receive strokes where they fall according to the scorecard.
This information is posted on the bulletin board with the match play draw.

U.S Open Pool
This year's U.S Open will be played Thursday, June 16 - Sunday, June 20
at Congressional Country Club -- Bethesda, Maryland
Entry Fee: $10 (cash please - attached to your entry)
Format: Choose 2 players from each listed category, plus 2 additional 'BONUS PICKS'
Pool entry forms will be available in the Pro Shop and at the Bar Lounge
beginning Saturday, June 11th
Please fill out your form, attach your entry fee and return TO THE PRO SHOP.
The US Open Pool is open to all Highland Members - enter soon and enter often !
Deadline to enter will be Wednesday evening, June 15th.

Unrepaired Ball Marks

The Men's Golf Committee thought this was an important point Greg made - let's all take the time to repair our ball marks during regular play. It only takes an extra minute and the greens and your fellow golfers will thank you.
Below is a picture Greg posted on his blog: each white stake represents an unrepaired ball mark from last Saturday's play:

84th Smallman Cup Matches
On Sunday, June 5th Highland will host the Smallman Cup Matches. Thanks to everyone who braved a soggy course and poor weather conditions on our qualifying day.
Congratulations to those of you who qualified for Highland's Team in this great event.
Schedule for Sunday, June 5:
Arrive for play between 7:00-8:00am (report to Golf Captain)
8:15am - leave for tee area
8:30am - shotgun start
1:30pm - Light buffet lunch and presentation
Good luck to all our participants including our guests from Sunningdale and the London Hunt Club
